It does drag on a bit in some parts, into details I don’t really want to know, but it becomes clear later on in the book that the little sprinklings of history about the kingdom and information about cities helps you understand the climax much better. The thoughts of characters are well-expaliend. ![]() The writing of this book is very similar to Uprooted, for those of you who have read it too - it’s detailed and spends a lot of time expanding on the universe. ![]() I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and devoured it in 2 days, while forcing myself to stop to get some sleep! I won’t reveal any major spoilers because I think it’s worthwhile for you to discover them yourself. Novik manages to do all this in a believable society, with smart characters (it’s possible)! Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik is a clever story that intertwines various elements of fairytales such as Rumpelstiltskin into a magical world. ![]()
